  • exaOS lightweight operating system optimized for Hi-Res audio
  • Built for compatibility with all USB-Audio DACs

Roon Core

Roon is a multi-room, multi-user networked audio platform built to the demanding standards of audiophiles. It offers bit-perfect playback, DSD and PCM upsampling, multichannel playback, and signal path display.
  • Manages your music collection, streams to all your audio devices, and stores the Roon database in the built-in SSD system drive
  • Streams music to Roon Ready, Roon Tested, AirPlay, Chromecast, Sonos, HDMI, USB, Devialet, KEF, Meridian, Squeezebox and other audio devices
  • Plays your music files stored on optional internal SSD storage, USB drives and NAS
  • Qobuz, Tidal, Internet Radio integration
  • Playback is controlled by the Roon Remote app available on iPad, iPhone, macOS, Android, and Windows
  • Requires Roon subscription

UPnP Server

The built-in UPnP Server can stream music files stored on the optional internal SSD storage or attached USB drives. Up to eight drives can be attached with external powered USB hub. Compatible player Apps include MconnectHD, BubbleUPnP and Hi-Fi Cast.

Roon-Enabled CD Ripping

CD Ripping is now available on all exaSound streamers and music servers with the free firmware update 23 and higher. External USB CD-ROM is required. Powered USB hub can be used if there are no free USB ports. CD Ripping is enabled from the web user interface in Manual or Autostart modes. CD data is retrieved with very high accuracy and stored on internal SSD or attached USB drive. Metadata - album title, artist and track names are downloaded from the CDDB database. For superior user experience and the best metadata accuracy automated CD ripping should be used with Roon. Roon's cloud-based intelligent library management service corrects and enhances the CD metadata.
Special Integration with exaSound DACs - Expect Exceptional Fidelity
Special integration with exaSound DACs offers flawless user experience and exceptional fidelity.

Network Player/Renderer

The exaSound Gamma can serve a double duty as server and player/renderer when exaSound DAC is attached via USB. Unique asynchronous packet streaming over USB developed by exaSound guarantees that CPU load cased by multiple server tasks does not affect the timing accuracy and precision of local USB playback. With one device audiophiles can have it all - reverence-quality music server and top-performance renderer.
